Gene Thomas ~ the original

Texas Songwriter & Singer

The Twelfth of Never (cover by Gene Thomas) Add Video

Gene Thomas connects souls with his original tunes, and here we find too, that he can do the same with another's creation as well. Perhaps, and in fact, we know, it is because he truly makes it his own. And as always, Gene, such a giving man, shares the gift with us. Our friend, "danna," dubbed in some lovely harmony parts after I originally recorded this footage of Gene at his home with my little camcorder. The result is a joint effort that we are so pleased to present for friends, family and fans of the incomparable GENE THOMAS. His talent can't help but shine through, even with the low tech recording effort. I just set the thing up and let it roll practically the whole waking time I visited them. We forgot it was going half the time, but that was the idea I was going for. Relaxed and just doing something you love to do again. Feel free to join Gene's website: http://genethomastheoriginal.com/ "danna" also has a number of Gene Thomas slideshows on YouTube. Her page is: http://www.youtube.com/user/msukulele Please look more videos and slideshows of Gene Thomas in the future from "souls through windows" and "msukulele" in the future.

Gene, I grew up listening to your music! Great Stuff!! I'm from Texas also and was in a band in the early 60's. Probably much in common. God Bless you and yours - Your Fan, Jim

I can only imagine what that must have felt like, danna. Then, to hear the finished product afterwards must be sublime. I know it is for me! The harmony is simply lovely. Thank you.

Tammy, Gene, friends, fans and family..
During our lives, we occasionally happen upon a magical moment. These moments are the fuel that keep us afloat during difficult times, and inspire us when ordinary life does not. I don't recall what sparked the idea of me adding harmonies to this recording, but I will always be thankful that I had this grand magical opportunity. Never in my life has my voice blended with such greatness that Gene's "people" have known and loved for decades. It's still hard for me to believe that even across hundreds of miles, I was able to put on the headphones, listen for the beginning of the word, hear the harmony, and blend my voice with his. You brought it all together beautifully, and I will always be grateful.

There are a great number of member's in Gene's family of admirers. I have come to know some of these gracious and beautiful people, including yourself. I have been welcomed into the "family", I am indeed blessed.
